9/14/2018 – 7:30 PM – Stephen Williamson
Stephen Williamson is the principal clarinetist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and a faculty member of DePaul University. He was recently a featured soloist with the CSO under the baton of John Williams, recording his Oscar-nominated score for the film “Lincoln.”

11/4/2018 – 3:00 PM – Avalon String Quartet

5/12/2019 – 3:00 PM – Avalon String Quartet

The Avalon String Quartet returns for their eighth season on the MPAC stage. They will perform three concerts during our 18/19 season featuring works by MPAC’s namesake, Felix Mendelssohn. Each Avalon String Quartet performance will feature a pre-concert lecture, which will offer insights into the pieces to be performed.

11/30/2018 – 7:30 PM – Zachary Owen
Zachary Owen is an up-and-coming bass-baritone originally from Stillman Valley, Illinois. Zachary has performed with such companies as Glimmerglass Festival, Arizona Opera, Cincinnati Opera, and Opera Santa Barbara. He was also a national semifinalist at the 2015 Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition.

2/1/2019 – 7:30 PM – Schubertiad
This MPAC collaborative production brings together some of the area’s finest musicians in celebration of Franz Schubert. Tenor Michael Day, the winner of the 2017 Guthrie Singer of Merit Award, will perform a selection of Schubert Lieder, and the concert will culminate with a performance of the famous “Trout” piano quintet.

3/1/2019 – 7:30 PM – Isthmus Brass Quintet
Under the direction of brass-icon John Stevens, and comprised of the finest professional brass players in the Midwest, the Isthmus Brass is Wisconsin’s premier brass ensemble. Named for a strip of land between the lakes of Mendota and Monona in Madison, the Isthmus Brass was established in 2009 as some of the most high profile brass players in the region looked for a way to collaborate and perform together.

4/12/2019 – 7:30 PM – David Kalhous
David Kalhous has gained recognition in Europe and the United States for his elegant musicianship, brilliant pianism, probing intelligence, and engaging programming. With wide-ranging repertoire spanning three centuries, he is equally at home with music of Scarlatti and Bach, Beethoven and Chopin, and Ligeti and Feldman.
