Community Arts Partners
Mendelssohn PAC is proud to open the doors of our campus to other area arts organizations to help us in our mission to enrich our community by fostering and supporting the performing arts. Some of our community arts partners (CAPs) include:
Greater Rockford Music Teachers Association:
GRMTA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to elevating the standards of music teaching and to encouraging and promoting good music. Mendelssohn PAC is proud to provide support to GRMTA teachers and their students as they use our campus!
Phantom Regiment is Rockford’s won internationally competitive drum corps. The MPAC campus is home to Phantom’s corporate offices.
Rockford Area Arts Council’s ArtsPlace:
ArtsPlace is an innovative program that provides Rockford area youth ages 14-18 with job training in the arts. Mendelssohn PAC’s campus is given energy by the bright and talented youth in this program during the months of July and August.
Rock N’ Roll Institute:
Start a band on Monday… Play a show on Friday. Rock N’ Roll Institute is held during the last two weeks of June on the Mendelssohn PAC campus and gives middle and high school students the experience of working together in a band and performing for audiences throughout the local community. Starting this year, Mendelssohn PAC will host Rock N’ Roll Institute bands in a concert series of their own!
Rockford Operetta Party:
Rockford’s premiere light opera company, directed by Scott Farrell, performs two productions each year on the MPAC campus.
Music with Liv:
Liv Lombardi is a singer/songwriter originally from New Jersey. She teaches music classes for young children with their parents on the MPAC campus. She also offers lessons in guitar and songwriting.
To present exciting, personal, interactive music experiences and to enrich our community by fostering and supporting the performing arts.
